Our Under 2's Room caters for children from 3 months up to 2 years. There is a spacious room for children to play and explore and an adjoining separate sleep room. We have a specific area for the children outside to develop their outdoor play skills. Once the children are comfortable they can also access a large play area with a sandpit, play equipment and lots of room to run and explore. We provide a safe and homely environment that promotes learning through play.
We provide well documented records of your child's learning and encourage active participation from parents, carers and families. In our Under 2's Room we have adopted a practice commonly known as 'primary care giving', this practice is based on a specific staff member developing a close bond and positive relationship with an individual child that is allocated specifically to them. The staff member also develops a strong relationship with the parents of that child. This enables a triangle of commitment devoted to ensuring that everything that occurs is in the best interests of the child. This practice ensures happy, emotionally healthy children who settle quickly and are secure in their wellbeing and sense of belonging. Staff are aware of the importance of attachment and how being emotionally available for each child is important in reassuring them when needed. Parents can be confident that their children have an important person available for them on request during their time in care.
Our Over 2's Room caters for children from 2 years until they start school. At Roxby Early Learning Community Group we encourage children to explore their interests through a variety of experiences.
The two large Over 2's rooms allow the children aged between 2 and 5 the space to interact with other children in a relaxed environment. The children also have access to a large separate sleep room.
The large outside area includes a shaded sandpit, a shaded playground area, a shaded play area and a large grassed area.
